The following is a simple project estimator I wrote in Macromedia Flash. It has an active help and
is failry self-explanatory. It's purpose is to bring reality into the
project estimation by showing that overhead tasks each day add up (coffee,
friendly chats, e-mail), and have random durations. The project that
assumes workers contribute 40 hours effort in a 40-hour work week is naive at
best.
Try using an FTE of 2.0 (2 persons) and an 80 hour effort with a Max Admin of
1.0 hours per day. Then notice the calendar days and total effort.
